Celebrating 80 Years of Grayhill Innovation
On This Day in Grayhill History:
In honor of the anniversary of the moon landing on July 20th, 1969, we wanted to showcase one of the best examples of Grayhill’s American ingenuity. The 50 Series Single-Deck Rotary Switch was used in this 16mm Data Acquisition Camera during the Apollo 11 moon landing. This camera filmed the landing of the lunar module, the famous first moonwalk, and the planting of the American flag.
The 50 Series Single-Deck Rotary Switch was used to change between frame rates of the video camera. It is now in the national collection at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum. Grayhill is proud to be a part of this iconic milestone in human history.
To this day, Grayhill’s 50 Series Single-Deck Rotary Switch is trusted by the United States military and aerospace programs. It has been used in a wide variety of highly technical applications, such as targeting devices, night vision goggles, and industrial remote controls.
